Titian Studios feature in the current Winter 2012 issue of VV Magazine, the famous, glossy publication for Russian-speaking expats. With two pages dedicated to showcasing the new range of Commission pieces and a further two pages covering an interview with Rod Titian. Russian-speaking clients now make up a sizeable proportion of clients and a Russion language version of the Titian website is also under consideration. Rod Titian of Titian Studios has recently featured in an article in the Mail Online about the Queens desk, part of the Royal Collection at Buckingham Palace and Andrew Marr’s current BBC1 series, The Diamond Queen. Episode 1 of the series features the famous desk, a sumptuous escritoire made by Francois-Gaspart Teune, one of the leading furniture makers for the French aristocracy and dated from 1781 – 1788. Titian Studios regularly work for the Royal Household and Historic Royal Palaces.

Rodrigo Titian was recently asked to appear in an episode of the ever-popular BBC show, Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is, which aired last night. The show evolves pitting the knowledge and business acumen of well-known antique experts against each other. In this episode, Eric Knowles is at a French antiques market and acquires an early 19th century decanter set. As it needs light restoration, he takes it to Titian Studios for some TLC. For those of you who missed it – it’s available on iPlayer for a few more days.
Although Rodrigo is no stranger to TV stardom (!) appearing as one of the restoration experts in the BBC’s Restoration Roadshow, again hosted by Eric Knowles, of Antique Roadshow and Antique Master fame. The series aired in August of 2010 was watched by more than 2 million viewers.

An eclectic mix of pieces awaiting restoration. Various gilded frames, one of which houses an original painting of George III, a beautiful Oriental Export lacquer cabinet on later stand flanked by a gilded William and Mary base, both standing in front of a painted and gilded Regency chair which hangs on the wall.

Commissioned for a private client’s residence, this four panel green-lacquer and Chinoiserie screen was designed by Titian Studios to depict typical oriental scenes. The finely decorated and gilded imagery portrays hunting and fishing scenes across the four panels, and display a sense of depth and space. This piece can also be adapted to panel a room or as decorative wall hanging.

This sumptuous bed was commissioned by Historical Royal Palaces and is on permanent public view at Kew Palace. A faithful recreation of the original bed designed by Thomas Sheraton (active later half of the 18th century) that belonged to Princess Elisabeth, the favoured daughter of George III. Hand painted and decorated using period documentation.
- Handmade using a beech frame that comprises the bed base, headboard, footboard and canopy work. The woodwork is finely decorated in the traditional colours of the Sheraton period, with a base colour and overlaid with decorative ornamentation. The domed head canopy has a swagged upholstered drapery, finished with bell tassels. The base features bolster cushions, a fringed front edge, again finishing off with smaller swags and festoonery.

This Tri-Dolphin console table was commissioned by a family with maritime connections. The spectacularly carved dolphins are based on mythological representations, with their grotesque faces, stylised fins and extravagantly splayed tails. The piece is topped with an ornately carved and gilded frieze, mounted with a black varieted marble top
- With three carved and gilded mythological dolphins sitting on a break-front base with egg and dart edge moulding and acting as the table support, each finished in 23.5 carat gold leaf, hand applied in the traditional manner. The top is of Northern Italian black marble, with variated vein and finished with a flat front edge
